Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgery

Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgery

Heal Faster with Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgery

In her commitment to staying current on advances in women’s health, Grapevine’s Dr. Doreen Moser offers our valued Obstetrics and Gynecology clients minimally invasive surgery. This leading-edge technology enables Dr. Moser to diagnose and precisely treat syndromes such as endometrial and pelvic pain, uterine prolapse, uterine fibroids and excessive bleeding.

We strive to avoid surgery and follow a natural path to wellness when possible. However, when your diagnosis calls for surgical intervention, Ob-Gyn Dr. Moser can discuss your options for avoiding abdominal surgery. Minimally invasive procedures offer the benefits of faster healing and less pain during recovery.

For instance, you may ask about vaginal hysterectomy vs. traditional hysterectomy. Laparoscopic hysterectomy allows women to avoid an open incision surgery and minimum six-week recovery time. As a minimally invasive option, Dr. Moser can sometimes remove the uterus and/or ovaries with a vaginal hysterectomy rather than through the incision associated with traditional hysterectomy.

Invasive—traditional surgery involving a large abdominal incision
Less invasive--laparoscopic surgery
Minimally invasive--da Vinci robotic surgery

What is robotic surgery?
Robotic surgery, under the brand name da Vinci surgery, offers women an alternative to a large, open incision and the long recovery associated with traditional surgery. Robotic surgery involves four robotic “arms;” one is a camera and the other three Dr. Moser manipulates during surgery. This technology greatly enhances a surgeon’s precision, dexterity and magnification in correcting problems such as endometriosis, fibroids or uterine prolapse.

What is laparoscopic surgery?
Dr. Moser’s Obstetrics and Gynecology practice also offers laparoscopic surgery. This technique employs a series of small incisions, or keyholes, to insert tubes into the surgical area. A video camera and instruments pass through the tubes to allow Dr. Moser access without opening the abdomen. Women suffering from uterine prolapse or endometrial and pelvic pain should ask about the benefits of laparoscopic surgery.

If you hoped to find an Ob-Gyn doctor with a passion for women’s health and commitment to providing advanced technology, we believe our practice will appeal to you. Dr. Moser brings clinical skill and a compassionate bedside manner to the women of Grapevine, Southlake, Irving and Keller. Call us to find out how we can have you feeling your best and enjoying life again.
